Ian McIntyre’s new tableware collection for ‘Wrong for Hay’, a design collaboration between Danish brand Hay and British Designer Sebastien Wrong, is now on sale at the V&A Shop (vandashop.com).
“It’s the inherent colours of these clays that introduce a subtle palette to the collection” says McIntyre of the subdued shades.
“McIntyre employs a mix of design and craft skills in his work, producing studio editions and developing shapes, materials and techniques for industry. A deep understanding of ceramic materials and the ability to make working prototypes, using retired machinery from Stoke-on-Trent, enables him to communicate qualities both to the client and manufacturer that can often get lost in the gap between design and production.”
Ian works from his studio and workshop in London. He was recently selected for the prestigious British Ceramic Bienial “Award” exhibition 2013 held at the Potteries Museum in Stoke on Trent.
