Group for Learning in Art and Design

Sharon Blakey and Kirsteen Aubrey have just been selected to present a paper on their respective research at the forthcoming Conference for GLAD (Group for learning in Art and Design) to be held at Sheffield Hallam on 27th Feb.

“The Group for Learning in Art and Design (GLAD) was established in 1990. GLAD’s remit is to engender discussion about best practice in developing the student experience in art, design and media and, in particular, to promote and stimulate debate and consideration of developments in the teaching and learning of the subject.” (http://www.gladhe.org.uk/)

Sharon’s co-authored paper with Jane McFadyen (Unit Leader for Unit X at Manchester School of Art) explores , “The Maker’s Palette: curiosity over conformity – a case for a hands-on approach”
Kirsteen’s presentation explores material assumptions and pedagogy: “Exploring the value of material interrogation, and the impact this has on practice within Art and Design.”
